We are pleased to announce that DiBos 8 Software Version 8.7 is now available. This maintenance release includes a number of enhancements, including:

• BVIP Firmware v4.0 support (H.263 streams only)
  
• Remote configuration via the Remote Receiver client software or another DiBos recorder
  
• Optimized widescreen (16:9) display support: you can easily select from up to seven new widescreen views via a new pull-down button next to the sequence button
  
• Improved Bosch/Arecont megapixel IP camera support (JPEG streams only)
  

 
Additional enhancements:

• Extended users can add users with custom authorization levels
  
• Smooth digital zooming: seven zoom steps, which results in much better usability when zooming in
  
• Digital zooming of PTZ cameras: it is now possible to digitally zoom images of PTZ cameras via the mouse wheel – this allows a user without PTZ camera control rights to digitally zoom the camera
  
• 256 prepositions: users can now configure up to 256 preset positions on supported cameras
  
• Block full-screen display: prevents users of touchscreen applications from being locked into full-screen mode
  
• Automatic reestablishment  of video images once a connection is restored
  
• ATM/POS Bridge can be configured to use different ports for different devices
  
• Smart Motion Search for 1/2 and 2/3 D1 resolutions (PAL and NTSC)
  

 
DiBos v8.7 is fully compatible with versions 8.6, 8.5, 8.42, 8.4, 8.3 and 8.22 – and we recommend that existing DiBos units be upgraded to v8.7. (Please note that all existing DiBos 8 units installed in the field can be upgraded, but will still require the use of a hardware dongle if one is already present on the unit.)
 
DiBos v8.7 software is available for download from the Bosch CCTV Web site (click here and then choose the “Software” tab). New DiBos Setup CDs and Recovery DVDs are available as well. These discs operate independent from the hardware platform and support both the DiBos 8 Rackmount and DiBos 8 Micro systems. The Recovery DVD includes the latest Microsoft security updates for Windows XP Embedded. These security patches will be available for download from the Bosch site as well.
